This meal planner was devised by The Red Hen Project’s Club-Cook team who were inspired by families that have been engaged in a virtual cooking club that Red Hen developed in response to the challenges of the COVID-19 crisis.

It contains a suggested shopping list of possible ways to spend the Free School Meals vouchers families may receive from schools (based on £15 per child). This shopping list suggestion comes to approximately £30* from a well-known supermarket – so two children for 1 week, or 1 child for 2 weeks.

You will then find a list of meals you can make using items from the shopping list – just check there isn’t an item or two that you need to add, such as oil, salt, pepper, sugar, baking powder, stock cubes etc.

Each recipe will feed 4 people. They are all aimed to be quick and will make lunchtimes a bit more fun! We think your children might love them!

The recipes are devised from family favourites and recipes adapted using their individual experiences of feeding their own children. Photos are purely examples of how the dishes could look, which we found using a simple Google search.

You can download and print the recipe cards and watch the instruction videos Club-Cook here
