The Red Hen Project is always on the look out for individuals that want to help.  If you’re interested in joining the team complete the online form here.

We have a range of roles – some regular, some ad-hoc.  These include, but are not exclusive to…

Awareness Builders/Advocates

Getting our voice heard amongst the big charities is hard.  Even rasing awareness locally in Cambridge can be challenging.  Could you help?

If you are a wizz on social media, or well connected to a Cambridge network (academia, business, science, tech, etc), why not consider being an advocate for The Red Hen?

Office angels (any gender!)

As with any organisation, there’s lot’s to do to keepo the show on the road.  If you like helping out in the ‘engine-room’ then get in touch.  It could be simple things like shredding and photocopying.  Or, if you have the right skills and background, you could help us develop our governance, policies and procedures.

Drop-in Do-ers

Every Monday morning we hold a friendly and inclusive drop-in in the hall at the Good Shepherd on Mansel Way.  We’d love to welcome individuals who could help with

  • Setting up and Packing Away (both or just one if needed) – Arriving about 8.15 and getting out the toys, tables and chairs), and packing it all away again at 10.45 and sweeping up.
  • Running the Kitchen – We prepare breakfast – bacon butties and healthy snacks, as well as serving hot and cold drinks.  We’d love help running this so our family workers can spend more time providing help and advise to our families.
Fundraisers

Like all charities we need help fundraising.  If you love to organise events, do dare-evil stunts or generally make an impact – think of us.  As a small organisation, you can make a big difference to us and our families.  If you want to see what your efforts can do, in person, rather than it dissapear into a large charity’s funds – then get in touch!
